Get massive volume with these six easy blow out tips

2" Round brush (the larger the brush, the bigger the volume)
Blow dryer (duh)
Davines Volu spray

STEPS

Step 1

 Prep hair with Davines Volu spray, concentrating on roots for optimal lift     

STEP 2  

                                
Blow dry until hair until it is at least 80% dry              

STEP 3                         

Section the hair from bottom and working up and around the head. Then work a piece of hair into the round brush, smoothing it into the brush.                                        

STEP 4

Pick up blow dryer and get blowin! Using a higher heat setting, round brush up and away from the scalp                                        

STEP 5

Allow hair to cool before removing round brush for a lasting style       

 

STEP 6         

 

 

After hair has cooled and set, comb out gently and use R+Co hairspray for flexible, touchable hold, and boom! There you have it.

* For curlier, unruly hair, use tighter tension on the brush. This will help smooth the cuticle (Kevin Murphy Smooth Again is my favorite product for curly girls longing for straight locks). Just like blow drying upside down, the more you lift the hair up at the root, the more volume you will achieve.

                        





My new favorite liquid liner: Glo Liquid Ink

Since high school, my go-to look has always been black liquid liner and bold colored lips. It’s simple and classic and easy to apply in 5 minutes. If for some reason I had to go the rest of my life using only 3 products, they would be liquid liner, mascara and lip stain.

I’ve struggled to find my favorite product throughout the years. Many people use gel liners with no problems whatsoever. A combination of the shape of my eye lid, and the fact that I can get a little oily, leads to gel product transferring onto my brow bone throughout the day. So gels are not for me, and trust me, I’ve tried a lot of them.

My favorite affordable liquid liner with a great applicator is Loreal Intense Liner. I’ve used this for years and years. However, if your eyes water - at all - the product simply disappears in a streak down your face, and you’re left with a gap in your straight line. I used to have to carry the liner pen in my purse to retouch throughout the night. And then, after a few applications, the product wouldn’t stick as well, or would tend to get flaky.

Then I tried Liquid Ink. It took a bit of trial and error to get the hang of the felt tip and the super runny consistency. But I found I the product was workable and buildable before it sets. And, while it can get thick if you draw on too many layers, you can’t tell, your line stays straight and shiny. And it literally lasts all night. If I don’t wash my face with an oil-free makeup remover before bed, it will look just as great in the morning. In fact, one night I washed my face, and used Glo’s Pumpkin Enzyme scrub, and the liner didn’t budge one bit. It has become my favorite item in my entire makeup kit, and I find myself making my wings longer and more dramatic as days go on. (Practice makes perfect!)

So, in conclusion, why is this liner my favorite?

• Waterproof - once it sets, it doesn’t budge
• Applicator - it has the skinny, flexible felt tip that I find to be the easiest to apply and is great for forming wings of different shapes.
• Color - the black sets shiny, not matte
