B.Y.O.BEARD: A class in dude grooming

In ancient civilizations, beards were a sign of honor, and were only cut as punishment. According to St Clement of Alexandria, a beard was the mark of a man and to remove it was to desecrate the symbol of manhood. And he lived from 150 to 215 A.D.! That means women and men alike have been fawning over the masculinity of beards for more than 1800 years.

But how do you maintain this manly look while also caring for your skin and hair? There are two simple tasks to keep that look both masculine and well maintained: exfoliation and hydration. If you want to learn simple tricks to keep your skin moisturized, and your beard oiled and trimmed, join us for an evening of dude grooming on Thursday April 2nd from 7-9 pm.
A deposit of $25 holds your spot in the class, and includes a grooming kit with artisanal beard oil & mustache wax. Please call303.861.2333 to claim a spot, as seats are limited.

New Glo products now available!

Here are the Glo eye shadow trios we will be playing with at the workshop on Thursday! The trios are $30 and come in a variety of fun colors. My two favorites are Amethyst, a dark purple, burgundy, and thistle combo, and Fresh Greens, a pallet consisting of a sea foam green, a pale matte pink, and a dark sparkly emerald. If you can't make our smoky eye workshop, book a color consultation or lesson, and learn one-on-one how to master this look.

Also, get a load of Glo's new line of matte lipsticks! Ooh la la! There are 6 traditional lip sticks, 6 suede matte lip sticks, and 6 matte lip crayons, with colors ranging from brilliant red to pale and natural. These colors are $16 (and the crayons even include a sharpener attached to the cap)! These products have high staying power and bold pigment. Even the nude colors give a slightly edgy look because of the unexpected matte consistency. This new line of lip colors truly has something for everyone.

Below are swatches of the new colors, shown on Glo educator and trend hunter Janeena. Keep in mind that the shade depends on your own personal skin tone, and you can always book a color consultation to find the perfect shade for you. My personal favorites to compliment my fair skin are the Suede Matte Lip Crayons in Sorbet, and Crush. The Demure crayon, and Punch and Pinup Suede Matte Lip Sticks have also been quite popular with clients, as everyone is channeling spring.

Finally, check out the makeup look that Glo recommends to accompany the Sorbet crayon. Below is an image of this look on Jessi. We love how this hot pink compliments her new Davines rose quartz colored hair!
